The JFK Files

November 21, 2017

With the recent release of the infamous John F. Kennedy files (or, I should say, a small portion of them), the numerous conspiracies on the president, involving his death, his relations with Marilyn Monroe, and many political interventions, have been arising in the media. Newfound evidence to further deepen these theories has been unveiled, mainly focusing on the closed investigations of his assassination. The evidence, however, is scant for the pop-culture feins of America, as hundreds of files have reportedly stayed unreleased due to FBI influence on President Trump. Despite these restraints, those released have no-doubt fed the growth of countless theories and their already strong conclusions.

Kennedy’s Assassination:

Arguably the most shocking piece of evidence revealed regards Kennedy’s assassin Lee Harvey Oswald and the FBI. Numerous new documents showed the Federal Bureau investigating Oswald’s whereabouts. The most surprising part, though, is not the found location of the assassin, but the date of the investigation documents. They appear to be dated as nearly a month before the assassination occurred, which has in turn raised many questions as to what exactly the FBI suspected him of doing. One document even notes his leaving New Orleans and arrival in Dallas, Texas. One month later, Kennedy was reportedly shot in Dallas on November 22nd, 1963. If he was important enough to track before his murderous act, why would the FBI need to conceal these documents? Had they suspected his later actions of assassination?

Interestingly enough, Oswald would be shot just two days later by Jack Ruby, who was also tracked by the FBI a year earlier for reasons unknown to the general public. The conspiracy arising here questions just how much the FBI knows and hides from the public, both in 1963 and now.

The Documents Still Concealed:

2,800 documents may seem like a grand reveal to many, but they are nothing compared to the 30,000 that remained sealed off by the government on October 26th of this year. The government’s secrecy to the public is mainly due to FBI influence, which strengthens even more suspicions as to why they hide so much. Theorists have gone as far as to suspect Oswald as being a CIA asset, and judging by the vast number of documents that stay unreleased to date, and the presumed reasons for their confidentiality, does not seem like a far-fetched conclusion. Still, these suspicions will remain unanswered until the remainder of the documents are released, and for an avid conspiracy theorist, will be far longer than they would hope.
