Valentine’s Day Sonnet

I was alone on Valentine’s day

With the chocolate I bought for myself.

In my bed I lay,

Grey’s Anatomy wouldn’t watch itself

I searched the house of caramels,

My favorite candy of all.

I love the taste and the smells

That comes from candies, big and small.

It really wasn’t all that bad

Chilling home alone.

I honestly wasn’t at all sad.

It’s not like I would’ve gone to any party thrown.

Although I had no one’s heart to hog,

The best part of Valentine’s day was cuddling with my dog
