Nominee for the Supreme Court: Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson
April 8, 2022
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson was nominated by President Biden on February 25, 2022 to serve on the country’s Supreme Court after the retirement of Justice Steven Breyer. Her experience includes her being an attorney and serving as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit since the year 2021.
Brown is making history as the first African American woman to be nominated for the Supreme Court and, if confirmed, will be the first African American woman to serve on the Supreme Court. Countless polls by many notable sources (including PewResearch and Gallup) reveal that many Americans support the confirmation of Brown to the Supreme Court. The Senate is still currently in the process of interviewing her, and it will take some more time until we see the results.
