One of my favorite activities to do to get into the fall/Halloween spirit is to watch as many movies I can! Here is a list of what I believe to be 10 of the best.
1. Coraline (2009)
You can never go wrong with what is a childhood favorite (or possible nightmare source) to many! Coraline is a family horror movie about a girl who travels through a door to a place where life is not all what it first seems to be. Available to watch on Tubi
2. Beetlejuice (1988)
This fall favorite from the 80s is a staple to many. With stars such as Micheal Keaton and Wiona Ryder this movie pulls people back to watch again year after year. Available to watch on HBO MAX
3. Trick ‘r Treat (2007)
This severely underrated film is a collection of stories about halloween traditions and what happens if you don’t follow them, all connected by Sam, a little trick or treating demon. If you’re looking for a new watch of something you’ve never heard of, this is the best of it. Available to watch on HBO MAX
4. Hocus Pocus (1993)
You can’t have an October watchlist without Hocus Pocus. It is the first movie that comes to mind for many people when they think of ‘halloween movie’, this film as well as its sequel will have people coming back for more for the rest of eternity. Available to watch on Disney+
5. Halloween (1978)
Possibly the most popular horror movie of all time, this movie has a cult following and well deserves it. With it basically creating slasher movies into a mainstream genre it is definitely a movie everyone should definitely watch at least once, (even if only once).
