The Cougar Marching Band took the Marlboro High School field at the FRHSD Marching Band Festival on October 14th, 2025. The Marching Cougars debuted their new uniforms with this year’s theme:‘Pirates of the Caribbean’. Our marching cougars hit the field hard, performing the best show of their season! The show featured songs from the franchise such as ‘One Last Shot’, ‘Blood Ritual’, and of course, ‘He’s a Pirate’. Special thanks to the Freehold Borough Marching Colonials for cheering the loudest for our band! The show also featured fun visuals such as spins, squats, and swordfights, as well as formations such as a pirate’s boat and a chevron pattern. This year, our halftime show featured our dance team as well as the introduction of our very own Colts Neck Colorguard! For the first time, our halftime show featured three members of the color guard who were dressed in elaborate pirate costumes. Our color guard is expected to gain an abundance of new members, and is welcome to anyone who would like to join, no experience needed! If interested, please meet Ms.Fretz in room E103 during lunch.
Along with their half-time show, the Cougars played the recognisable tune ‘Houdini’ by Dua Lipa, gaining applause from parents and other bands alike. The band is expected to play the song again on Sunday, October 26th, during the annual ‘Spooktackular Parade’ in Colts Neck, and would love the support of their classmates!
Overall, the Colts Neck Marching Band had a blast at the festival and was extremely impressed with the other schools’ shows, such as Freehold Borough’s David Bowie show and Howell’s show, entitled ‘Spider’. We can’t wait to see what the next season brings, so stay tuned!
