Homecoming

Nothing kicks off the school year better than homecoming. In fact, when people think of high school, homecoming is most likely one of the events that they associate with it. Homecoming stands out to a lot of people not just because it’s in about every high school movie, but because it is the perfect way to have fun with friends and support the school.

So, when is Colts Neck High School’s homecoming? The homecoming dance will be held on the night of October 18th at 7-10 pm, and the homecoming game will follow the next morning. Be sure to attend! These are the high school moments that you are not going to want to miss.

The homecoming dance will be held in the cafeteria which will be greatly filled with decorations that correspond with the theme of the dance. While the theme will eventually be known, it will not be revealed until we get closer to the event. Within the cafeteria there will be many things to do. There will be a DJ for dancing, but there will also be designated areas for photo opts. Even if you don’t want to dance, enjoy the night and socialize with your friends!

A new addition this year is that the dance will also be held in the outside courtyard. In the courtyard there will be many games such as spikeball, kan jam, and cornhole. You can either spend your night in both the cafeteria and the courtyard, or you can stay in the courtyard and just play games. Also, if you are someone who prefers not to dress up too formally but would feel out of place in the cafeteria, then the courtyard is the perfect area to casually play games with friends.

Also, a huge aspect of homecoming, which has become a trademark, is having a king and queen. These winners, as well as the winners of the homecoming court, will be announced at the dance. This year, similar to last year, students will be voting online. When the time comes and the nominees are in, there will be QR codes posted around the school where you scan the code on your phone, and vote for your grade’s king and queen.

The football game is the following morning after the dance. The football game is filled with so much spirit that it is most likely the most exciting game that the school offers. The game is attended by what feels like the entire school, and there is a huge sense of community. There will also be a celebration for the homecoming king, queen, and court.

Be sure to be there on the night of October 18th and morning of the 19th. You do not want to miss out on homecoming. It is an all in all amazing experience that captures what makes our school so great. Both the dance and the game are perfect opportunities to come together with friends and support cougar pride.
