Christmas Poem

Christmas+Poem

Sophie Divino

Christmas is a time of crackling fires,

Glistening gently under the mantle.

The room feels warmer,

The mood feels brighter,

And the people feel cozier,

As they snuggle under their heavy blanket

And take in all that Christmas has to offer.

Christmas is a time of movies,

And rewatching all of the classics.

Each and every one is cherished,

And it is a must to get to them all.

As the people relax on the couch and press play on the remote,

They are taking in all that Christmas has to offer.

Christmas is a time of lights,

Shining brightly on every street.

Nighttime driving becomes a tour through a wonderland,

With people anticipating the kind of extravagance

they have yet to meet.

As people stare in awe at the magical displays that are before them,

They are taking in all that Christmas has to offer.

Christmas is a time of trees,

Releasing the crisp aroma of pine into the air.

Families begin the season by keeping tradition-

Gathering as one to hang objects of sentiment

and ever so carefully placing the star at the top branch for all to see.

As the people hang their ornaments and come together,

They are taking in all that Christmas has to offer.

Christmas is a time of hot cocoa,

With tiny marshmallows melted on top.

Every sip is a taste of deliciousness,

even just the thought of it will warm you up.

As the people clink their drinks and taste the chocolaty treat,

They are taking in all that Christmas has to offer .

Christmas is a time of cookies,

And saying “maybe just one more.”

Each cookie is made with the love of the season,

And each bite of gingerbread reminds you of home.

As the people indulge in the sweet treat,

They are taking in all that Christmas has to offer.

Christmas is a time of music,

Being sang everywhere you go.

Something about the sweet melodies lift spirits,

And sends comforting chills that only Christmas advocates would know.

As the people hum, sing, and belt,

they are being reminded of what joy is yet to come.

They are taking in all that Christmas has to offer.

Christmas is a time of fluffy snow,

And hours of playing in the world of marshmallows.

Make a snowman, snow fort, and maybe an angel or two,

But the hot cocoa break must never be forgotten.

As the people stare in admiration at their symbols of hard work and cheer,

They are taking in all that Christmas has to offer.

Christmas is a time of relaxation,

And putting down the books.

Take a breath, settle down, and unwind,

leaving all other worries behind.

There should be no talk of work or school,

Only of Santa, elves, and reindeer.

As the people take a moment to refresh and live in the moment,

They are taking in all that Christmas has to offer.

Christmas is a time of gifts,

And giving to those you love.

It’s the time of year to give back-

Seeing smiles spread on faces,

and happiness erupt within hearts.

As the people give and receive,

gather and do good deeds,

They are taking in all the Christmas has to offer.

Christmas is a time for spending countless days with those cherished.

It’s a time to reconnect and come together,

and enjoy Christmas festivities with those who are beloved.

As people join as one and catch up on all that has been done,

They are taking in all that Christmas has to offer.

Christmas is a time of joy,

And the warm feeling that takes over your spirit.

The Christmas hymn is spread throughout,

It’s singing in the streets for all to hear it.

The phrases “merry Christmas” and “happy holidays” will hold a special place in your heart,

For it means Christmas is here,

It represents the wonderful times we have yet to embark.

As the people spread the spirit of the season and go about their holiday days,

They are taking in all that Christmas has to offer.
