CNHS Girls’ Swimming Team Make A Splash at Shore Conference Championship

Christina Dowd

The CNHS Girls’ Swimming team came in 5th place at the 2022 Shore Conference Championship in Neptune earlier this month. The girls crushed this meet, with Arabella Lee, a senior, shining bright with two record breaks. Lee defeated Rumson-Fair Haven’s Annie Mee–54.49 to 57.99–to win the 100 butterfly title for the third time in her career while also breaking the 2016 record of 55.5. Lee, with a time of 54.84, defeated St. John Vianney’s Tessa Bendokas (58.08) and Toms River South’s Sam Dugan (58.36) in the 100 backstroke to become the new Shore Conference champion. She went into the record book replacing Trinity Hall’s Caroline Gmelich (55.87) from the 2017 meet. Lee also swam the 200 medley relay with Zoe Midura, Lauren Zeni, and Quinn Hoagland (1:52.77) and the 400 freestyle relay with Catherine Vota, Midura, and Hoagland (3:45.74). Another shoutout goes to Lauren Zeni, a junior, who placed 3rd in the 100 breaststroke. Congratulations to the girls on a great season and good luck at future meets!
