2022 DECA States

2022 DECA States

Christina Dowd

Two weeks ago, the CNHS DECA Chapter headed to Atlantic City to compete at states for the first time since 2020. There, they had to either present a 10 or 20 page paper to a judge, or complete a roleplay based on a business scenario. After three days of competing, 11 students won awards for their events and/or became state finalists. Of those students, six will be moving onto the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta, Georgia at the end of April to compete at the national level. These six students placed in the top six of their events: Abigail Polyanskiy, Darren Milman, Sabrina Smurro, Emma Aragona, Reena Saraiya, and Isabella Kramsky. Darren and Sabrina both placed first in their event! Five students also became state finalists: Ashley Jordan, Christina Dowd, Abigail Bellows, Rhea Chatrath, and Olivia Henein. Congratulations to everyone who competed and good luck to those at ICDC in April!
