What has FTC Been Up to?

In the next upcoming months, Colt Neck High School’s For the Children club has some exciting events planned! The club’s main goal is to assist children in impoverished communities both in America and across the world. The club has traveled to multiple countries in South America to build schools and complete humanitarian projects! Last year, the COVID 19 pandemic placed an obstacle in the road for fundraising in the club. Luckily, the club’s members and executive board have been working hard to generate fresh, fun ideas to raise some money this year!

Most recently, the club began a Cupid’s Catch matchmaking fundraiser. For this activity, students across the school were given a form to fill out at the beginning of their Block 1 class. This form contained a multitude of factual information questions, such as the person’s birthdate, as well as fun personality questions. The forms have just come back this week, and are currently for sale during lunch outside of the cafeteria! When you buy your form, you can see your most compatible boyfriends/girlfriends or friends in the school, as well as your least compatible. From a general consensus and what I’ve heard so far, it appears that many people are excited about the results of their form and can’t wait to buy it!

Additionally, FTC is currently planning this year’s biggest event: a Color Run! The run will be at Bucks Mill Park on May 8th, and it’s a seriously big undertaking. The club is working hard to get vendors, with members going to places like the mall and other shopping centers in hopes of getting donations. The club is also working on putting together swag bags for the event, purchasing t-shirts, and planning out the decorations for the run! Ultimately, this event sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun, and with all of the hard work FTC members have put into it, we’re sure this event will be great. Stay tuned and keep a lookout for new, enticing fundraisers from the club in the near future!
