Tumors are an awful thing to experience no matter where it is on the body. Tumors and cancer cells are similar but are different as well all tumors aren’t cancerous. But there are different types of tumors from malignant cancerous to benign noncancerous. If the tumor is benign then the tumor isn’t cancerous if it’s malignant there’s a good chance that it is cancerous. Benign tumors can grow large but they don’t spread into nearby tissues or other parts of the body. Malignant tumors, on the other hand, can spread into nearby tissues and to other parts of the body through the blood and lymph systems. This process of spreading to distant places in the body to form new tumors is called metastasis. Cancer cells are cells that constantly replicate even though they are damaged. Cancer cells/tumors also spread through two systems called the lymph system where your lymph nodes are and your blood system which both help the body function by supplying blood and fighting off infections. Cancer cells can have many causes, from chemicals like asbestos or too much sun damage on the skin. The causes of course matter to the point of which cancer you can get if you breathe in asbestos too much which is in popcorn ceilings then you can get lung cancer. But, if you get too much skin damage then it could be skin cancer instead. To conclude, cancer and tumors are caused by excessive damage to the skin and it is important to recognize cancer early on to make sure there are no long-lasting effects.
