Screen To Support is a club founded this school year (2024-2025) by LPS sophomore, Radhika Sharma. The club runs movie themed events where parents can drop off their kids to enjoy a fun movie night with snacks and other fun activities related to the movie. The money earned from the events goes to the Centrastate Healthcare Foundation, and the club offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for CNHS students. Talking about her intentions for starting the club, Radhika said the club’s purpose was “to provide a great way of fundraising for charities while also utilizing a fun way to involve students.” According to Radhika, the club is also impactful because it “connects students of Colts Neck High School and younger children together through communication and volunteering.”
Screen To Support had its first event on April 4, 2025, where they played the movie Tangled. In addition to the movie, the kids enjoyed chips and popcorn and had the opportunity to get their hair braided with flowers, make paper lanterns, and write letters to the characters (and even get a letter back!). They ended up raising around $500 to donate, and received plenty of positive feedback from parents as well. Both the kids and volunteers enjoyed it; reflecting on the Tangled event, Radhika said, “It is really so amazing to see the bonds that the volunteers have with the kids—they really look up to us.”
As of right now, the next event is set to be Moana themed, and the date is not yet confirmed. If you are looking for volunteer hours, enjoy taking care of young kids, or are simply looking for a rewarding way to get involved, Screen To Support is the way to go!
