This year LPS Theatre will present their first-ever production: The Kindertransport.
The Kindertransport was a program to evacuate around 10,000 Jewish children from Nazi-controlled countries to Great Britain, occurring about nine months before the outbreak of WWII. While the story may be a fictitious one, it is based on real experiences.
The play focuses on the struggles in the relationships between Evelyn, a Kindertransport survivor, and her family members. Through non-linear storytelling, phasing back and forth from Evelyn’s childhood to her as an adult, the Kindertransport explores themes of generational trauma, identity, and repression.
There will be an in-school performance on Thursday, March 12 and an evening performance at 7PM on Friday, March 13. At the evening performance, the cast and the stage manager will participate in a talk-back Q&A session with the audience immediately proceeding the performance.
Admission is free, concessions will be sold. Everyone is welcome to watch the evening show!
